The Skegness Holiday Resort is very easy to get around with little ones. » Caravan Holidays in Skegness

“I’d always wanted to visit Skegness and so set off to Butlins with my mum, my partner Brian, 40, and our daughter Elizabeth, 3. Our trip didn’t disappoint – it was a proper, stylish English family holiday.”

“Butlins has certainly moved on from what I was expecting. We stayed in a three-bedroom Gold Apartment. It was spotlessly clean, and spacious, with plenty of room for storage, and equipped with a fridge, cooker, toaster, kettle, microwave, DVD, and TV.”

“They’ve thought of everything in the family-friendly department too. High chairs and bibs are available at the restaurant, and there are photo opportunities for little ones with their favourite characters including Barney the Dinosaur and Bob the Builder. You can get anything from snacks to a three-course meal, and we found the staff very helpful.”

“Elizabeth loved the big swimming pool and had great fun on the water slide. There’s also a wave area, a baby pool, and small toddler area. Plenty of free entertainment is on offer all day on the main stage, including Barney, Pingu and Angelina Ballerina. Bikes with baby seats attached are also available to hire.”

“If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the resort there’s a vast expanse of sandy beach just outside your door, and you can take a pleasant stroll along the seafront into the town of Skegness.”

“For a bit of bonding time mum and I tried out the very reasonably priced spa, leaving Elizabeth in the capable hands of the nanny service. I loved the crystal steam room and the essential oil-laced shower, but there’s also a sauna, hydrotherapy pool, 20-metre swimming pool and fitness suite.”

“Parents can enjoy a cabaret, film, or even a play in the evenings, after their tots have exhausted themselves at the children’s disco.”

“You can get pretty much anything you need from the supermarkets, but as our package included bed, breakfast and dinner we hardly spent a penny. The free funfair, including merry-go-round and helter-skelter, was a big hit with Elizabeth. She also adored having her face painted.”
